Get Support

Reaching out can feel like a big step. You don’t have to feel ready for counselling to get in touch.

At Quetzal, we support women who have experienced childhood sexual abuse. When you contact us,  you are joining a service where you can access support in different ways, at a pace that feels right for you.

You will be listened to, believed, and supported.

How it works

When you refer yourself to Quetzal, you will become a client of the service. From there, you can access a range of support, which includes counselling as well as other services.

We currently have a waiting list for counselling. We understand this can feel difficult, but you do not have to wait without support.

While you are waiting, we will:

  • stay in touch with you
  • help you understand what support is available
  • offer access to other services
  • support you in a way that feels manageable and safe

You are in control of what services you access.

Refer yourself

If you would like to access support, you can refer yourself using our online form:

https://quetzal.org.uk/get-help-counselling/

Once we receive your referral, a member of our team will be in touch to talk through next steps and answer any questions.

Referring someone you know

If you are supporting someone who has experienced abuse, you can refer them to Quetzal with their knowledge and consent.

We will approach this gently and ensure they are supported in a way that feels safe and respectful.

What you can expect

  • A safe, confidential and trauma-informed service
  • No pressure to share more than you want to
  • Support at your own pace
  • A team that understands the impact of abuse

You do not need to have everything figured out. You can take this one step at a time.

You are not alone

You might have been carrying this for a long time. You might not be sure what you need yet.

That’s okay.

Reaching out is simply a way to open the door to support — we will walk alongside you from there.
