Our Outreach programme aims to support Women Victims of Childhood Sexual Abuse living in Leicester Leicestershire and Rutland.
Quetzal uses a community-based approach to raise awareness in various communities in Leicester and beyond, about the trauma of childhood sexual abuse and the value of counselling.
A community-based approach recognises communities as having an active role and participation in highlighting and addressing the issue that matter to them.
As a community, you can:
- Invite Quetzal to share information about the impacts of non-recent abuse on women’s wellbeing and the value of counselling,
- Write for Quetzal Voices an article about how your community support your members’ mental health and wellbeing,
- Provide us with community venues that are safe and unknown to the community at large for us to deliver face-to-face counselling sessions,
- Support one of our main outreach programme, the Breaking the Silence initiative that aims to raise awareness in South Asian communities in Leicester City and support more women survivors of childhood sexual abuse with counselling.
