The YES Project is a Youth Employability Support project working with the young adults of Leicester and Leicestershire, who are aged 15 – 24 and who aren’t in employment, education or training.
The YES Project is a partnership of youth organisations and charities from across Leicestershire, and we specialise in offering holistic support through a tailored approach.
They work with young people who are the furthest removed from the labour market and who face barriers to finding work; like issues with their mental health, substance misuse, homelessness, previous offences, or who may have cultural and language barriers.
Each of their delivery partners brings something unique to the project and provide support with every step of the way; whether that be intensive support or finding work experience with some of the UK’s largest retailers. Not only do we offer employability support, like CV writing and interview techniques, we also have the ability to hone in on more niche areas too, like media creation.
They know their young people want to grow and develop, which is why we try to present them with as many opportunities as possible. Whilst they’re able to offer classroom activities that mean young people can earn qualifications, they can do more outside of the box things too – like outdoor pursuits. they know that developing skills and encouraging growth isn’t one-size-fits-all, so they strive to provide a variety of activities our young people can access.
Their aim is to work together to help these young people find their way, whether that’s finding a job or a training opportunity. Through the extensive support, encouragement, activities and sessions we provide, their young people can develop their skills, gain qualifications and make new friends. At YES, they’re able to change the lives of the people we support.
