The Getting Ready for Employment and Training (GREAT) Project is a Leicester-based project, designed to help individuals who are part of families and not currently working, move towards employment or training opportunities.
Through a variety of sessions delivered by our team and delivery partners, participants are given personalised support to overcome the barriers they face – such as lack of access to childcare, issues with their mental health, lack of skills, and language barriers.
The project encourages participants to believe in themselves and their own abilities to overcome the barriers and challenges they face. Alongside the dedicated 1-2-1 support of an Employment Support Officer, they can start making steps towards finding a job or training. We help participants with building employment skills such as writing CVs or interviewing for jobs, help managing money, searching for jobs, building confidence, and accessing training opportunities, work experience, and qualifications.
We have two delivery partners, who work alongside the GREAT Project. Optima-UK provides health and wellbeing support and Business in the Community, which gives participants the opportunity to look behind the scenes at local companies, see how they function and the different types of roles available.
With a one-to-one holistic approach, focused on each person’s specific needs and circumstances, the GREAT Project helps to design a path to employment or training that is achievable and supported at every step.
