Kindness as Empowerment with WORD!
Explore the theme of Kindness as Empowerment in this uplifting creative workshop led by Juliette Burton. Through writing, discussion and creative activities, participants will reflect on the ways kindness can strengthen wellbeing, community and connection.
The workshop is part of a wider day of celebration, with a WORD! event taking place that evening from 7:00pm to 9:00pm at Attenborough Arts Centre as part of Black History Month, headlined by the renowned poet Grace Nichols.
Participants will be invited to share work created during the workshop through gallery tablecloths and washing-line displays. We are particularly encouraging artists of Black heritage to contribute further through a limited number of open mic slots, although everyone is warmly welcome to attend, share, celebrate and connect.
Award-winning comedian and theatre-maker Juliette Burton is coming once again at Quetzal to deliver not one session but three sessions exploring textile and poetry.
