Session outline
- Introduction: We will begin with sitting in a circle to practice a grounding exercise and then moving to introductions.
- Open Sharing Circle: Then we will move on to giving space/witnessing our attendees (who are willing) to share feelings about our relationships with our periods, or lack of as it may be. In a talking circle we use a talking stick and only the person holding the stick is allowed to talk at any one time. This allows people to share openly without being silenced, challenged, disempowered, or have their thought/feeling invalidated.
- Workshop: Once we have spent some time in the talking circle, we will be moving into a workshop focused on the menstrual cycle. We will look at the general flow/processes of the menstrual cycle, how menstrual hormones can affect our minds, what that means and how we can take responsibility for our hormones and use our cycles to make our lives better. We will look at cycle tracking what, how and why. We will look at some apps but also I have some lovely print outs that people can take away to being to use. We will look at how women who do not get periods can use the moon and its phases to track their hormones too.
- Pause for Light Meditation: Towards the end we will do a Guided Meditation aimed at strengthening/healing the mind/body connection.
- The End: Tea, cakes and free products. We will talk about, and look at, a range of reusable products. Products will be available to people to take away for free and we will ask people (who are willing) to fill out a survey about what products they already use and what they have chosen to take away.
