After many years at Talbot Lane, Quetzal will be moving to a new home this autumn. While this is a big change, it also gives us the opportunity to create a more sustainable base and bring our services closer to the women who need them.

We’ll have modern, welcoming counselling rooms and an office within a larger community-focused building.
What This Means for You

Improved accessibility: The building has ramps, lifts, and extended staffed hours (Mon–Fri, 9am–10pm), allowing for more evening and weekend sessions.

Modern, comfortable facilities: Warm, clean spaces designed to feel safe and supportive.

Better transport links: Regular buses from the city centre, free parking (including Blue Badge spaces), and additional parking nearby. We will continue to cover public transport costs for clients where needed.

Enhanced safety: Reception staff are on site until 9pm every day, so the building is secure and welcoming at all times.
Continuing Our Commitment
Face-to-face counselling will continue in our new space from 1st October, and we are also planning to expand into outreach venues across the county when funding allows. This means more women will be able to access support locally, without the barriers of travel.
We understand this change may feel different, especially for those who have known our Talbot Lane building. Please know that we are here to support you through the transition and remain committed to providing the same safe, compassionate, and life-changing services.
This move marks an exciting new chapter for Quetzal, and we look forward to welcoming you into our new home.

Questions and Answers
Q: Will this delay the start of my counselling?
A: No, we have put measures in place to mean counselling isn’t delayed. Demand for our services is high and matching with counsellors does take time, but the relocation will not impact your wait.
Q: Is it still private?
A: Although there are lots of other businesses with offices in the building, the counselling rooms are secure and private. There are no signs on the room doors so no one will know who you have come to see, or why you are there.
Q: Why have you chosen this space?
A: Unfortunately, cost has played a large part in the decision. Funding for charities is very difficult at the moment and with the rent increase we’re facing we simply cannot afford to stay where we are. However, we’re also excited that the new space will be fully accessible and staffed Mon-Friday 9am-9pm giving us more flexibility to deliver counselling in the evening. The new building balances cost with safety and accessibility to help us to continue to deliver free counselling into the future.
We will also be increasing our outreach counselling, now delivering face to face sessions in Melton Mowbray and Lutterworth with the aim to add more locations as funding is secured.
Q: How can I get there?
A: Braunstone Business Box is on a good bus route and is about 15 minutes travel from Leicester City centre. There is free parking available, including blue badge spaces directly outside and additional free parking across the road at Braunstone Leisure Centre. If you are struggling with the cost of buses, please speak to us.

If you have/want online or telephone sessions you will notice very little change due to the move, but we understand this change is a big adjustment if you are expecting to come to our current building.
