How to find us

We understand that starting counselling can be daunting.  You may find you feel anxious about coming, that is perfectly normal. This page aims to give you as much information as possible to help you feel at ease.

We are happy to make any reasonable adjustments to help you engage with your counselling so if you are struggling to attend your sessions please do let us know. If you have any concerns or questions please call us on 0333 101 4280 and we can talk through them with you.

Missed sessions have a negative impact on your recovery journey, the volunteer counsellors and the capacity of the organisation to continue to deliver free sessions, so please do let us know if you are struggling to attend for whatever reason.

When you arrive

What happens when you arrive?

You will be asked to sign in and then take a seat in our waiting area until your counsellor is ready for you.

When she is ready your counsellor will come and get you from the waiting area and take you into the private counselling room.

What will you talk about with your counsellor?

Your counsellor will never push you to talk about anything you don’t want to and the sessions will be led by you. Your counsellor will help you to process and work through your thoughts and feelings but won’t ask you to share anything you are not comfortable with.

We offer access to online and telephonic therapy to those who are unable to attend their sessions in-person. However, there are certain requirements that must be met to ensure the effectiveness of the sessions. Learn more about what you need to know before accessing your counselling sessions online or via telephone.

Other general information.

We will ask you to fill in some forms and sign an agreement at your first session. Your counsellor will guide you through the forms and give you any help you need.
