Translate is a Quetzal initiative that aims to ease access for support to women who require support in languages other than English, on their journey toward the recovery of childhood sexual abuse.

The need to provide counselling in different languages and translate our resources emerged through conversation and engagement with communities and groups during the Breaking the Silence Initiative.

As a result, Quetzal started collecting information at the referral stage to find out who want counselling in a different language and developing referral pathways to organisations that may be able to support women who need counselling support in different languages.

So far, in 2021-2022, 4 women indicated wanting counselling in a different language.

Quetzal is also translating its self-help guide to increase awareness about the trauma of childhood sexual abuse in specific communities living in the region.

If you would like to support the initiative so that we are able to provide counselling in different languages and resources in different languages, contact us
