What does being a Listing Coordinator Volunteer mean? 

As a Listing Coordinator Volunteer, you will play a crucial role in helping us raise funds. You will be responsible for listing items on Vinted, ensuring their accurate description, appealing presentation, and management. Your efforts will directly contribute to supporting survivors of childhood sexual abuse.

About us

Quetzal works to provide free, and inclusive, counselling, support services and outreach to empower women and girls who have experienced childhood sexual abuse to begin recovery from trauma. We are available to all women over the age of 16 in Leicester, Leicestershire and Rutland and provide the longer-term support necessary to work with the multiple and complex trauma caused by childhood sexual abuse.  

The purpose of this voluntary role is to raise funds and support women who benefit from our free long-term counselling services.

Key Responsibilities 

  • Item Listing: Create listings for donated items on the Vinted platform, including detailed descriptions, high-quality images, and accurate categorisation.
  • Research and Pricing: Determine competitive pricing for items, ensuring they are priced to attract buyers while maximising fundraising potential.
  • Inventory Management: Keep track of donated items, their status on Vinted, and coordinate with the team to ensure a steady flow of listings.
  • Quality Control: Ensure listings meet the highest standards of accuracy, professionalism, and compliance with Vinted’s policies.
  • Time Commitment: Flexible, with an estimated commitment of 2-3 hours per week, depending on the volume of donations and listings.

We ask that volunteers commit to working with us for a minimum of 12 months.  

Essential qualities

  • Attention to Detail: Ability to create accurate and detailed descriptions for items listed on Vinted.
  • Organisational Skills: Capable of managing inventory and coordinating with the team to ensure timely listings.
  • Communication: Clear communication skills to liaise with donors and team members effectively.
  • Time Management: Ability to balance various tasks efficiently within a flexible schedule.
  • Sensitivity and Empathy: Understanding of the sensitive nature of the cause

Desirable qualities

  • E-commerce Knowledge: Familiarity with online platforms like Vinted and understanding of online marketing strategies.
  • Customer Service Experience: Previous experience in customer service or retail roles to provide quality assistance to donors and potential buyers.
  • Research Skills: Capability to research market prices to determine competitive pricing for donated items.
  • Team Player: Willingness to collaborate with a passionate team dedicated to supporting survivors and fundraising efforts.
  • Adaptable: Ability to adapt to changes in donation volume and work requirements while maintaining quality standards.

Role Commitments  

  • Ideally 3 – 6 hours a week, remotely and in-person at Quetzal 14-16 Talbot Lane LE1 4LR

Please note that the role is highly flexible and can be as little as one day in office per month.

Support offered

  • You will be offered essential training including training to understand the impacts of childhood sexual abuse and safeguarding
  • Ongoing support from the Volunteer Manager
  • Social events

Qualifications/Experience Required

There are no pre-requisites for this role in terms of professional qualifications, however, some experience, education or training in fundraising, event management, support skills, and marketing would be an advantage.

Expenses

Volunteers are welcome to claim back expenses that are incurred whilst volunteering. This includes travelling via public transport and parking fees. Expenses are processed monthly and paid by BACS – bank details will be requested when the first claim is made.

This role is not suitable for current clients of Quetzal, but previous service users are free to apply.

Please note that we only accept female applicants aged 18+ : This post is exempt under Schedule 9, part 1 of the Equality Act 2010 – We are a women-only group because we believe it is vital that women have safe and supportive spaces where they can come without fear of re-traumatisation to explore their experiences and begin to recover from the trauma of childhood sexual abuse.

A DBS check is preferred for volunteering in this role with Quetzal. This will be paid for.
