Building Resilience in the Workplace: an event recap

Quetzal, alongside Freeva, First Step, and Leicester Rape Crisis, hosted a complimentary wellbeing event tailored for professionals engaged with sexualized trauma. The event offered a platform for enriching discussions and access to valuable resources.

Dr. Michelle Seabrook, a seasoned professional with vast experience spanning various helping professions, including counselling, psychotherapy, and clinical supervision, delivered an insightful keynote address at our first partnership event. Dr. Seabrook, known affectionately as Dr. Mish, shared her expertise on resilience, wellbeing, and self-care, offering valuable insights garnered from her extensive career.

The event featured engaging workshops aimed at enhancing professionals’ self-care practices and organizational strategies for promoting wellbeing. Dr. Seabrook led a reflective discussion on the myths and pillars of self-care, challenging participants to explore personal beliefs and attitudes influencing their professional wellbeing.

Another workshop, delivered by Becky Nixon, delved into organizational systems and worker engagement for wellbeing, providing a holistic view of effective strategies for enhancing workplace wellbeing. Participants gained practical insights into identifying strengths and weaknesses within their organizations and implementing positive steps for improvement.

Additionally, attendees had the opportunity to experience the rejuvenating benefits of chair yoga guided by Kajal Nisha Patel

The event concluded with a vibrant marketplace where professionals exchanged leaflets and networked, fostering connections and sharing valuable resources within the community.

Overall, the event provided a valuable platform for professionals to enhance their understanding of self-care, organizational wellbeing strategies, and to connect with like-minded individuals in the field of sexualized trauma support.
