Salary: £32,486 – £36,379 dependant on experience

Role Overview

The Quetzal Project was established thirty years ago and is a registered charity, providing specialist long term counselling and psychotherapy services for female survivors of childhood sexual abuse.  The charity has grown and developed over the past three decades, into the specialist voluntary sector organisation that it is today, and continues to provide its service users with a high quality, confidential, non-discriminatory and sensitive service in a safe and professional environment.    It aids the recovery of some of the most vulnerable women across, Leicester, Leicestershire and Rutland who are experiencing mental health difficulties, and enables them to improve their self-worth, resilience and confidence – and to better manage their lives and relationships.

The Quetzal Project has been through a period of significant growth and increased its public profile over the past few years which has given rise to a new role of Chief Executive.  We are looking for an ambitious and inspiring leader who will ensure our sustainability and provide strong direction and management in what promises to be an important and exciting stage in the charity’s growth and development.

The Chief Executive will be the public face of The Quetzal Project and will lead the staff and volunteer team, build strategic relationships, oversee high quality service delivery both in our city center offices and outreach locations, and manage the building we operate from. She will be passionate about the work we do with female survivors of childhood sexual abuse, with a solid background in financial management, service development, fundraising and stakeholder relationships.

We offer a friendly and flexible working environment, with a generous holiday allowance.  If you think you have the right skills and knowledge to be successful in this role, we would like to hear from you.
