Volunteer Community Connectors help to both connect with women’s communities across Leicester City and raise awareness for our cause. Our Volunteer Community Connector plays a crucial role in representing Quetzal in various community groups, local events and function, informing women in their community about the value of counselling and how it can support women’s recovering from the trauma of childhood sexual abuse.
It’s an exciting time to become a part of our organisation so we are looking for passionate and committed women who can work alongside Quetzal’s team to connect with as many women’s groups as possible to raise our profile and support further women survivors. Leicester We are looking for women who have excellent communication and organisational skills and want to make a difference to those affected by sexual violence at any time of their lives. Quetzal values diversity and welcomes applicants from all sections of the community.
Ideally, the volunteer will have some experience of working with vulnerable people, have a mature and sensitive approach when dealing with communities by being capable to keep the strictest confidentiality, and an understanding of safeguarding issues.
You will learn new skills and gain experience for related roles such as research, fundraising, event management and marketing. Volunteering at Quetzal is a fantastic opportunity for the right person to gain greater insight and understanding of this area of work in the not-for-profit sector. You will also gain the satisfaction of supporting our essential work and develop an awareness and understanding of the issues around the trauma of childhood sexual abuse.
